Financing for seaports around the world is growing, taking on new and improved forms through the use of advanced project finance tools.
The cost of building seaports varies widely. For example, a small berth can cost the customer 50 million euros, while a large modern seaport with several high-tech terminals can cost 4-6 billion euros or even more. The construction of such a transport hub takes on average about 5 years, and the subsequent development of port infrastructure continues for decades.
These are huge investments and risks that require a carefully thought-out financial structure.
The most expensive are greenfield ports, which are located in difficult terrain and require a significant amount of dredging and other preparatory work. The construction of cargo terminals, LNG terminals, railway infrastructure, pipelines determines the final cost of the project. In many cases, the construction of seaports is carried out in stages, and financing is attracted by various stakeholders using syndicated bank loans, leasing, bond issues, refinancing instruments, and so on.
ESFC Investment Group, a European company with international financial experience, is actively involved in the financing of large seaports around the world.
In particular, we are ready to develop a customized financial model depending on the needs of the customer.
We also offer long-term investment loans, project finance schemes, refinancing, leasing and consulting.
